National Popcorn Day

Happy National Popcorn Day. We have had a fun day today. We learned about the history of Popcorn. We made, decorated, designed, wore, and ate popcorn today.

The oldest ears of popcorn ever found were discovered in the Bat Cave of west central New Mexico in 1948 and 1950. Ranging from smaller than a penny to about 2 inches, the oldest Bat Cave ears are about 4,000 years old.

American Visionary Art Museum

1/16/11 We went to the American Visionary Art Museum for Martin Luther King JR Birthday celebration. We saw a lot of interesting art. Someone made a huge ball made out of Bras. Another artist used match sticks. One person made the Titanic out of toothpicks. It took him 2 1/2 years to make it. The toothpick Titanic was about 7 feet long and 2 feet high. I thought that was pretty cool.
